Today's Marketing Cookie is about realizing your dream.

Now, is it just me, or is that a funny way to word this fortune? "All big men are dreamers?" Really!? Is this fortune cookie trying to say something just to fat guys? I suppose it might be if their dream is to be skinny. Three months ago, I saw my brother-in-law for the first time in over a year. When he came into the house, he took one look at me and said in his New York accent, "Oh man, Myles... not for nothing, but you got fat, eh?"

He was right.

I had gained about fifteen pounds and I was already weighing in at a buck eighty-six. So, in that moment, I vowed to lose twenty pounds by cutting my calories down to 1200 per day and started a diet that I called, "The International Tour of Salads". It wasn't easy to drink only water and give up all bread, pasta, potatoes, and all sweets, but I was determined to succeed. As of today, I've already lost twenty-five pounds and have decided to lose five more. I don't know if all big men are dreamers, as today's fortune suggests, but I certainly feel great!

Do you have the discipline to stay on plan? I think you will, depending on how badly you want your dream to come true. Harriet Tubman once said, "Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." I agree with her. I believe that whether you dream of changing the world or just changing your diet, you have the power to achieve something great... and realizing your dream is how you'll grow great!
